Wayne Naidoo leaves Lowe + Partners, ACA
Wayne Naidoo has resigned as Group CEO of Lowe + Partners SA. Naidoo has been with the agency for close to fifteen years and helped oversee its rebranding from Lowe Bull to Lowe + Partners SA earlier this year. No firm date has been said for his departure but Naidoo says it will be sooner rather than later.
Lowe drops Bull, Peter Badenhorst joins as ECD
Lowe Bull is rebranding as Lowe + Partners South Africa after the international parent company acquired a majority share in the local agency. Its two offices become Lowe Johannesburg and Lowe Cape Town.
Matthew Bull, Andrew Whitehouse launch NY shop
Matthew Bull, former chief creative officer of Lowe & Partners (an Interpublic Group company) and founder of South African agency Lowe Bull, has teamed up with Andrew Whitehouse, executive creative director at FoxP2, to launch a New-York-based agency, The Bull-White House, which will be a sister agency to South Africa’s FoxP2.

2010 hit the reset button in Cape adland
In spite of some turbulence, post Great Recession it turns out that 2010 wasn’t such a bad year for Cape Town’s adland after all. While big account moves in Cape Town were rather limited, agencies are taking the initiative to reinvent their internal processes, in some cases shedding staff and departments, while looking for work coming out of Johannesburg or internationally.

Brandt Botes plots a new design course
Designer and illustrator Brandt Botes has set up his own design studio called Studio Botes in Cape Town. The agency will specialise in corporate identity work, packaging design and illustration. Brandt is one of South Africa’s best known graphic designers and was until recently design group head at The Jupiter Drawing Room (Cape Town).
