Matthew Bull, former chief creative officer of Lowe & Partners (an Interpublic Group company) and founder of South African agency Lowe Bull, has teamed up with Andrew Whitehouse, executive creative director at FoxP2, to launch a New-York-based agency, The Bull-White House, which will be a sister agency to South Africa’s FoxP2.

The agency will be a sister agency to South Africa’s FoxP2.
The waning influence of ad award shows
The statues are stacked in neat rows along office walls. It’s come to define our industry. Kids are told they need to win ’em to impress the creative director and secure that job. Creative directors are told they need to win ’em to impress the MD and prove their relevance in a competitive industry. MDs care because they are told the talent cares, and with a bit of spin and a celebratory lunch, the client might be induced to care, too.
AdVantage magazine’s execs Cape Town’s execs most admire
AdVantage magazine set out to discover which agencies, agency bosses and creative directors other Cape Town agency execs most admire. Twenty one of Cape Town’s agency leaders were invited to nominate their most admired agency in Cape Town, the most admired creative director in Cape Town and the most admired agency boss in Cape Town. Finally they were asked to nominate the agency with most success in integrating digital into its offering. Obviously nobody could nominate their own agency or staff. All the nominations were then tallied up to see who Cape Town’s adland most admire. @marklives did the tallying.

You and two mates decide to go it alone and launch your own ad agency. You need to come up with a name. Simple. Hit Google and type in ‘creativity.’ Whoa, information overload, but as you wade through the entries something about a creativity gene catches your eye. It’s called FoxP2.
