Nikki Cockroft and her remarkable contribution to the digital industry
Nikki Cockcroft has five jobs, she likes to joke, juggling her responsibilities as the CEO of Primedia Online where she is responsible for the portal iafrica.com, digital agency Prezence and trafficking solutions provider 365 Digital, as well as being chair of the Digital Media and Marketing Association (DMMA) and Chairperson of the annual industry award show, The Bookmarks Awards.

The annual Net Prophet conference is due to back in Cape Town on Thursday, 12 May 2011, at the Campus Courtyard of Old Mutual’s HQ, Mutualpark. The conference, free to delegates, is the premier Internet technology conference in the country, and will this year see speakers from South Africa, Kenya, Europe and the US participating.
Quirk soon a R100 million revenue company
The team at emarketing agency Quirk is so busy two years after moving into their offices they haven’t had time to finish off interiors properly. So busy in fact they have grown from 60 to 150 people in the past twelve months and will probably just fall short of doubling their R50 million in 2010 revenue over the next financial year.
Groupon South Africa promises you a good deal
In January 2011, they were two guys working hard to keep their group media buying site Twangoo running with a handful of freelance sales staff. Less than three months later, they have 40 staffers, a new office in Loop Street, Cape Town, and possibly the hottest thing since Facebook as their backers. That’s because Groupon acquired Twangoo in January 2011 and tasked its co-founders, Wayne Gosling and Dan Guasco, with establishing the Groupon brand in South Africa.

MSN SA tries to regain traction with upgrade as Nielsen restates stats
MSN has always been the biggest invisible brand in South Africa’s digital content space. The default home page for millions of Internet Explorer users, local Hotmail and Window Live Messenger users have also received significant exposure to the content portal. It had become, according to MSN senior editor Justin Zehmke, little more than a compulsory stop on the way to another online property.
Clickthinking bought by international network
South African Internet and SEO agency Clickthinking has been purchased by Aegis Media, one of the world’s leading media communications and market research groups, for an undisclosed amount. Clickthinking is set to become the wholly owned South African office of the Aegis Media’s international iProspect network.
