Ogilvy & Mather expands investment in local office

Ogilvy & Mather has upped its stake in local subsidiary Ogilvy South Africa from 49.9% to 59%. According to Moss Mashishi, chairman of Ogilvy Africa and Ogilvy SA, the deal signifies the maturing relationship between the global and the local office, which he says has always been a flagship in the larger Ogilvy & Mather network.

Local graffiti artists and illustrators remake Percy Bartley House in Woodstock

Ogilvy Cape Town has collaborated with Ricky Lee Gordon of Write-on-Africa to restore life and colour to the Percy Bartley House in Woodstock by providing the home with new coats of colourful paint and wall murals done by local well-known graffiti artists and illustrators. The home looks after troubled teen boys with a history of living on the streets.

Copenhagen to Hopenhagen – Climate Change Conference

On December 7 leaders from 192 countries will gather at the UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. Since the conference in Kyoto global carbon dioxide emissions have increased to a record 31.5 billion metric tons. That’s 40% above levels in 1990, the basis year for the treaty.
