Create Withtank
Withtank.com is a very cool South African start-up with a remarkable sitebuilding tool offering entrepreneurs and creatively inclined web users a way to get a website without much of the costs usually associated with doing so. Speakerbox is an online music community that focuses primarily on South African music, music culture and live events. The look and feel of the identity is young, energetic and visually current, using a fair amount of hand done illustration with a limited colour palette to establish an overall brand consistency. From match boxes, t-shirts and skate boards to the website – Code made sure they designed one cool brand image.
Dropping ‘paper’ from news
The American Society of Newspaper Editors is planning to remove “paper” from its name and expand its membership to include editors of online-only news Web sites and journalism educators, the society announced yesterday.

Lauren Beukes is a much admired journalist who has just released her futuristic debut novel, Moxyland, that plays out in Cape Town and is in her own words a hi-tech fable of the day that “corporate apartheid separates the haves from the have-nots.” But the really interesting aspect of this publishing venture is the multi-channel approach Beukes took in marketing the book.
