Bafana Kaofela!

In a bid to share the enthusiasm about the Confederations Cup and the 2010 World Cup, and inspire all South Africans to stand behind the national team, Absa bank has teamed up with The Jupiter Drawing Room (Jhb) to create an epic advertising campaign built around a rousing battle cry – Bafana Kaofela! The closest approximation is ‘in the spirit of togetherness’.

At FIFA they pick the media they will deal with (rather conveniently)

The 2010 FIFA World Cup is fast approaching and media interest in the event is growing in South Africa and globally. To facilitate communication between journalists and FIFA it has created an online Media Channel. “The FIFA Media Channel is a media-only password protected service with specific content tailored to support journalists, photographers and other media professionals,” reads the website.

2010 FIFA World Cup host city posters launched

FIFA has released the city posters for the host cities of the 2010 World Cup. The Cape Town poster, depicting the world famous Table Mountain celebrates diversity among its people while Durban shows off its character with bright colours and abundant ‘vibe’. For Johannesburg, prosperity is the inspiration behind the city’s poster but the city also made sure it included support for the national football team, Bafana Bafana, with green and gold as the colours. Mark thinks Bloem did the best design job while Nelspruit did something different.
