by MarkLives (@marklives) Nedbank has awarded its digital media services account to The Odd Number, following a competitive pitch process; the business was formerly held by The Mediashop. The win follows shortly on last month’s news that The Odd Number has become lead agency for Wimpy.
“The media landscape is constantly changing and, as a brand, we need to stay abreast of these trends to ensure that we reach our desired audience in an efficient and cost-effective manner through media-buying strategies,” says Khensani Nobanda, Nedbank Group marketing and corporate affairs group executive. “We believe that the appointment of The Odd Number will help us to drive and meet this objective.”
Transformation strategy
According to Tatiana Ndlovu, Nedbank head: group media, The Odd Number’s approach to performance media, rooted in strong conversion capabilities, is what attracted the bank to the agency. The account move is also aligned to Nedbank’s transformation strategy and a good culture fit.

“We’re extremely proud to partner with Nedbank,” says Xola Nouse, The Odd Number managing director. “With our ability to execute end-to-end strategy, creative, data and analytics, as well as our focus on one-on-one digital marketing, we will help the bank grow sales, lead innovation, win awards and, ultimately, dominate the market. And, by putting together a formidable team made up of industry experts, we will make sure the bank achieves its business objectives.”
