The beautiful work of Joh Del

Joh Del (Johan de Lange) is one of South Africa’s most sought after illustrators and designers. His work has been described as whimsical and uniquely individual while his clients range from small indy outfits to giants like Nike seeking to regain street cred and cool. Here is his portfolio.

This cootie catcher was created by Joh Del as a mailer posted to all the Virgin Money clients advertising four Spring special offers.

Featuring some of the jewellery it sells this ad for Tinsel, a Jozi jewellery shop, ran in Dossier magazine. It features a cut out effect with Photoshop drop shadows.

This illustration for banking giant ABSA was an open brief around a quote from Archbishop-Emeritus Desmond Tutu. It took about a month to draw and colour.

This feature first ran in Mark Issue 1. To contact Joh Del go here.
