by MarkLives (@marklives) It’s a full house of three Zeros in the latest Ad Feature, not to mention FIFA, Sepp Blatter and Appletiser! Branding expert Andy Rice and marketing consultant Sizakele Marutlulle also discuss the proliferation of high-end brand shops in local malls, despite what we thought to be recessionary conditions.

Ad Feature team 10 June 2015For the Wall of Fame or Shame:

  • 947 anchor Jacob Moshokoa’s Zero goes to SPCA for a recent print ad that he feels just doesn’t make sense and is insulting.
  • Marutlulle is emphatic that the latest Vodacom ad, “Slaap Tiger”, deserves a Zero [please note that this ad was done by Ogilvy & Mather Johannesburg, not Ireland/Davenport, which last week announced it had lost the Vodacom account to Ogilvy & Mather South Africa — ed-at-large].
  • Rice completes the trio by handing a Zero to the Hyundai Veloster ad, as he feels it’s insensitive and should have been postponed, considering the recent fatal incident at the Lion Park in Gauteng.

Enjoy the show!
