by MarkLives (@marklives) Andy Rice, Sizakele Marutlulle and Jacob Moshokoa are once again reunited to talk ads in the latest Ad Feature! We also hear from Sam Cowen’s guest, Nicci Robertson, about junk food advertising on child viewers.
For the Wall of Fame or Shame. it’s one Hero and two Zeros:
- Rice gives a Hero to the #PlaywithOreo pop-up café in Rosebank, Johannesburg, from Mondelez SA
- Moshokoa hits out at the new TVC for Audi’s TT, “You dare or you don’t”, and
- Marutlulle zeroes a car brand, too — Suzuki’s “Therapy” TVC from Penquin.
Enjoy the show!

Interesting. I got the Suzuki ad straightaway – going for a ride or drive or slide gets you away from the stresses of everyday life: and they are many. Not perhaps the most original of strategies nor the most memorable of executions (apart from the noted use of black people in therapy, which I can’t comment on as being a plus or minus, to be honest); but in terms of message, spot on! Just goes to show that every ad has its audience… I guess?
