by Herman Manson (@marklives) The Managing Director of Draftfcb Johannesburg, Jerry Mpufane, is leaving the agency at the end of the year. John Dixon, Group CEO at Draftfcb South Africa, confirmed that he has received a letter of resignation from Mpufane.
Mpufane is considering a number of opportunities at the moment, says Dixon, but has made no decision about his future yet.
“The early notice allows us to manage the continuity in a controlled manner,” says Dixon. “It also gives him an opportunity to seek his next adventure openly and transparently. In this time he’ll continue to run Draftfcb Jhb and will be instrumental in helping us to identify and recruit his replacement.”
Staff were informed on Friday.
Mpufane joined Draftfcb in 2008. He had previously been group marketing director at the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) and had held positions at South African Tourism and McDonald’s.
