by MarkLives (@marklives) Mediclinic Southern Africa has appointed FoxP2, following an extensive pitch process conducted by Yardstick, with four ad agencies considered in the final round of presentations. According to Nathier Salie, Mediclinic Southern Africa corporate marketing manager, this appointment strategically coincides with the launch of a redefined corporate marketing and communication strategy.
The private hospital group currently operates 49 private hospitals and two day-clinics throughout South Africa and three hospitals in Namibia, with more than 8 000 beds in total. Mediclinic Southern Africa is a wholly owned subsidiary of the international private healthcare group, Mediclinic International PLC. Through Mediclinic International, the group also operates in Switzerland, the UAE and the UK.
“Mediclinic is delighted to announce the appointment of a new creative agency, FoxP2, to support our marketing and communication activities,” says Dr Biren Valodia, Mediclinic Southern Africa chief marketing officer. “FoxP2 comes with a strong creative history and understands the values that underpin Mediclinic’s business ethos.”
“Mediclinic is looking for a long-term partner to take the brand into the future, so we’re thrilled to have won the pitch,” says Justin Gomes, FoxP2 founding partner and executive creative director. “It’s a brand we all believe in and I have no doubt this will show in the work we create.”
According to Shannon Delaporte, FoxP2 Cape Town MD, the agency felt an immediate cultural fit with the Mediclinic team, which has always been a very important factor in our client relationships.
Following the sale of FoxP2 to Dentsu Aegis Network, the agency also has the potential to not only support the brand but also across their other African, European and Middle Eastern markets, says Charl Thom, FoxP2 CEO.
