by MarkLives (@marklives) Elouise Kelly has been appointed managing director of Ogilvy & Mather Johannesburg. She replaces Alistair Mokoena, who recently became CEO for Ogilvy South Africa, leaving the position vacant.

Kelly is the former head of marketing at the SABC, where she managed 25 SABC radio and TV brands, a 130-person team and hit a R6bn commercial revenue target. Her media experience includes time as CMO/VP of marketing for ON Digital Media (TopTV), head of editorial (Africa) for MTV Networks Africa and business unit director at Jupiter Drawing Room. She was also senior manager for brand and comms at MTN Irancell.

Chief delivery officer

Ogilvy South Africa also announced the appointment of Tracey Edwards as chief delivery officer. Edwards joined Ogilvy & Mather in 2001 as an account director, rising through the ranks of account management until she reached the position of deputy MD of Ogilvy Johannesburg.

Edwards’ various portfolios have included clients such as Coca-Cola, Unilever, Kimberly-Clark, Mondelēz, Avis, Investec and Brand KFC, leading the KFC brand for 12 years before been promoted to deputy MD. She also handled the acting MD role at Ogilvy Johannesburg, following Mokoena’s promotion to CEO.
