by MarkLives (@marklives) Julian Ribeiro is the new CEO of Lowe South Africa. Ribeiro earlier this month announced that he had left Ogilvy & Mather Johannesburg after eight years as CEO. Both the Cape Town and Johannesburg offices of Lowe will now fall under him.
Current Lowe CEO Adelle Wapnick is stepping down and it’s not yet clear what her future plans are.
In a statement released to the media, Jeremy Hine, president of Lowe and Partners, EMEA, says: “We are sad that Adelle has decided to leave Lowe. Adelle evolved the culture at Lowe South Africa, creating an environment for the focus to continually remain on our clients.
“We have worked together in finding her successor, and we both feel very excited about the impending arrival of Julian.
“Julian is a seasoned professional with a proven track record of growth and integrating new capabilities into agencies. Above all, like Lowe, he values creativity.”
Lowe South Africa clients include Unilever, SABMiller, Prudential, Nestle, PioneerFoods, AFB, Development bank of South Africa and Sasol.
