Yes, it’s a bit of a corny cover concept, but I think because of the theme of it (Hollywood’s 100 Favorite Films), it’s actually brilliant!
The Hollywood Reporter got Geena Davis and Susan Sarandon, who played the leads in Thelma & Louise, to replicate an iconic moment from the movie!

I probably looked at the ‘front’ and the ‘back’ of this Volkskrant Magazine cover a dozen times to figure out how it did it, and to take in the shear genius (get it?) execution of it!
[The cover story is about a journalist experiencing “Hair Hell”, with the hairdresser telling him/her “It’ll grow back”…]

I decided to show two Sunday Times Magazine covers this week…
The latest is the crazy Dolly Parton cover that illustrates her personality to me perfectly!
But the real cover that struck a chord with me is the Madiba and Zelda la Grange cover (well, with their hands/arms visible). Simple, and absolutely amazing (and true!)!

Every now and again, Getaway produces a cover where all the elements just come together. Perfectly. Photography, copy editing, cover lines, designs, reproduction.
I think the magic has been found with this cover…
