by Herman Manson (@marklives) Claire Cobbledick is no longer MD of The Jupiter Drawing Room Cape Town, having left the agency at the end of November 2013 after having served out a three-month notice period. Kevan Aspoas is now serving in a dual role of MD and CEO for the foreseeable future.
Cobbledick had been with the agency for eight years this time around. She first joined Jupiter as an account executive over 16 years ago and rejoined the agency in 2005 as head of strategic planning, before being promoted to deputy MD in 2007 and finally MD in 2010.
Last year, Cobbledick was voted as one of the most-admired agency bosses in Cape Town by peers for her efforts in steering the agency through the turmoil of the Woolworths account loss in December 2011, when it lost 30% of its revenue in one swoop.
Cobbledick says she left Jupiter CT for a variety of different reasons, including wanting to have more time with her family.
Since leaving, Cobbledick has taken on the marketing contract for Gumtree South Africa (which is owned by eBay).
