Out of Office: Daleahs

       Daleahs Braamfontein

For Daleah Arvanitis, opening her own New York-style daytime bistro was a long-standing dream. Earlier this year, that dream began to take shape and develop into what is today Daleahs — the bustling Braamfontein eatery housed within “that bright green building”.

As Braamfontein has boomed in the last new months, this quirky little eatery has become a firm favourite of the young and trendy who work in the area to meet and mingle over lunch, coffee, or any time of the day.

The Wi-Fi is free and unlimited, and the atmosphere decidedly relaxed and welcoming. The interior does well to mimic its New York inspiration, with a raw brick wall straight out of a ’90s sit-com set. Cookbooks and trinkets are scattered about, which makes the space feel personal, in a good, authentic way.

It’s the perfect place to discuss a project, last Friday night or to get some work done.

Style Tribe South Africa

StyleTribe SA was founded by Bonolo Moeng and Keith Ngcongo. They are a style collective, within which they house creatives. This is done through a blog (www.styletribesa.tumblr.com), which they use as their main platform.

The bigger picture involves the trade of knowledge and skills among like-minded individuals. Essentially, that platform translates into an online portfolio of the body of their collective works.
