30 Bad news for newspapers gets worse
The ABC has released circulation statistics for the period July 2012 to September 2012. Here are a couple of numbers that stood out in terms of newspaper circulations.
29 EXCLUSIVE: Draftfcb acquires Hellocomputer
Draftfcb has acquired independent digital agency Hellocomputer. The move follows widespread industry speculation that the two parties were about to announce a deal. A letter to clients went out this afternoon at 15h00 while staff was informed at about 15h30.
Hello Computer was launched in 2005 by its ECD Mark Tomlinson. Draftfcb’s digital arm Mesh Interactive will fold into Hellocomputer taking the agency to a total of 80 people in Johannesburg and Cape Town. The Hello Computer name has also changed format to Hellocomputer. The size of the deal has not been made public.

The account win follows a financially sound year for the agency in which it grew revenue by 43% year on year – the second year revenue growthAndrew Brand has exceeded 40%. Revenue now stands at around R59 million.
