The ABC has released circulation statistics for the period April 2012 to June 2012 (ABC Q2 2012). Total daily newspaper sales in South Africa fell from the 1,386,504 in Q2 2011 to 1,373,377 in Q2 2012.

The Cape Times drops from 43,950 to 37,948 while the Cape Argus fell from 45,924 to 35,332. The Daily Sun declined to 348,265 from 381,127. Son fell to 100,331 from 106,122 and the Sowetan nosedived from 98,156 to 120,207. The Star showed a significant decline to 117,874 from 144,113.

Isolezwe jumped from 108,138 to 113,786. The only newspaper selling more than 500 digital editions per day was Business Day with 620.
