The Spier Contemporary 2010

The Spier Contemporary 2010 has revealed a new brand identity centered on the multi-layered statement; “Open for Art”.

Creative Director Kevin Flood says that the core challenge was to encapsulate a complex conceptual competition in an open, transparent and non prescriptive way. “It needed to speak to all levels of South African society from the high art intellect to the general public. We chose a single cohesive idea, which would be instantly recognisable and communicate the Spier Contemporary as a brand. In turn, it needed to be flexible enough to live across different forms of media, from traditional print, to ambient and electronic”.

The collaborative creative team is made up of graphic designer Kevin Flood (of Creative Flood), copywriter Theo Erasmus (of Membrane), web designer James Mentz (of Tenacity Works) and the Spier Contemporary project team.

Call for entries: The Spier Contemporary invites the submission of any new creative work in any medium. This includes animation, graphic design, illustration and product design. For more information, please visit www.spiercontemporary.co.za.
