INTERNATIONAL
Futu, nr 07–08
Great use of strong lines and striking colours! And, if my Polish is correct, this issue is about “Exercising your imagination”, which makes the cover even more fitting.
Maisonneuve, Issue 56, Summer 2015
LOL! I think this image and cover line are great, getting the message and main article across in a killer way!
New York, 27 July 2015
Chills. That’s what I had when I saw this cover for the first time, with 35 of the 46 women who are accusing Bill Cosby of sexual assault . This “Unwelcome Sisterhood” is a another very strong contender for Cover of the Year, and the website article is another piece of brilliance! It really is a must-see and read, with great insight and extra information!
SOUTH AFRICAN
Cape Etc, Issue 2, 2015
As a proud Capetonian, after all the devastation our mountains and fauna and flora have seen recently, it’s utterly heart-warming to see this kind of beauty not only “rising from the ashes” but also popping up on our magazine shelves.

MagLove by @MediaSlut is a regular slot featuring the best local and international magazine covers every week, recognising well thought-out, powerful and interesting (and hopefully all three-in-one) covers and celebrating the mix of pragmatism, creativity and personal taste that created each of them. The (for now anonymous) blogger behind MediaSlut knows way too much for his own good about media in South Africa, magazines in particular. His mission is to show when SA magazines fail but, most importantly, also when they succeed. If you’re looking for a library about SA magazines and news, this is your one-stop pitstop.
