INTERNATIONAL

ESPN, Body Issue 2015

ESPN, Body Issue 2015: Amanda BingsonBig, strong and very beautiful! Olympic hammer thrower, Amanda Bingson, is swinging into the spotlight the fact that “athletes come in all shapes and sizes”. She speaks openly in this article about her physique:

“Dense would be the right word for me. Generally when you look at athletes, you see their muscles and all that stuff; I don’t have any of that. My arm is just my arm — it’s not cut, it’s not sculpted. I don’t have traps bulging out to my ears; I have a neck. I don’t have a six-pack. My legs are a little toned, but they aren’t bulging out. I’m just dense. I think it’s important to show that athletes come in all shapes and sizes.”

Glamour, August 2015

Glamour, August 2015Not an award-winning cover by a long shot, but Amy Schumer also symbolises “the bigger women”, even though it makes her look as if she’s lost a lot of weight. She’s been thrust further into the spotlight for all her thrusting (and great humour!) in the new movie, Trainwreck.

Here’s a behind-the-scenes video of the Glamour cover shoot:

Women’s Running, August 2015

Women’s Running, August 2015But it’s Erica Schenk who’s sprinted to the finish line as most-talked-about, and most-complimented “bigger women” cover. About. Freaking. Time! Well done, Women’s Running, for choosinge Schenk as the winner, and going with her as a cover option!

Flaunt, Issue 142

Flaunt, Issue 142Interesting that Flaunt has gone with a pixelated cover, but its difference makes it stand out. My impression is that its Summer Camp Issue fits into the launch of the new Netflix series starting on 31 July 2015, “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp”, as the magazine features actress Elizabeth Banks, who plays one of the main characters.

Internazionale, 17–23 July 2015

INTERNAZIONALE, 17–23 July 2015Definitely a competitor for Cover of the Year! Very dark and gloomy, but absolutely amazing!

WAD, Summer 2015

WAD, Summer 2015Speaking of competitors for Cover of the Year, this one is definitely in the swimming running for Sexiest Cover of the Year! OMG!

Dummy, Summer 2015

Dummy, Summer 2015While we’re pushing the boundaries in this post, I may as well go all out… :-)
