INTERNATIONAL
Popular Mechanics, September 2014
A conceptual cover to illustrate its “Do-It-Yourself Issue”, in which it shows readers “how to make anything”.
But it seems like there was one thing IT couldn’t make/fix/do… something that will really bother a few obsessive-compulsive people…?
Thursday Magazine, 24 July 2014

Truer words have never been written about Facebook on a cover…
Vrij Nederland, 2 August 2014
Absolutely simple and beautiful, in memory of flight MH17.
Wallpaper*, August 2014

This August 2014, it’s Wallpaper*’s fifth year of doing a Handmade Issue, where it “showcase[s] craft and creativity”.
This year, it has limited-edition covers with “hand-printed high fives from some of the finest designers who have contributed over the years”. These hands belong to Paul Smith, Konstantin Grcic, Edward Barber and Jay Orgerby, Amanda Levete and also Naoto Fukasawa.
These issues can be ordered by email.

MagLove by @MediaSlut is a regular slot featuring the best local and international magazine covers every week, recognising well thought-out, powerful and interesting (and hopefully all three-in-one) covers and celebrating the mix of pragmatism, creativity and personal taste that created each of them. The (for now anonymous) blogger behind MediaSlutknows way too much for his own good about media in South Africa, magazines in particular. His mission is to show when SA magazines fail but, most importantly, also when they succeed. If you’re looking for a library about SA magazines and news, this is your one-stop pitstop.
