Sponsored content: Early Thursday morning, 15 May, the multi-award winning team headed 11 560 kilometers East and haven’t looked back since. “It was time for something new, you know. We’ve been around for 14 years in August [2014] and just thought, let’s go somewhere weird,” says Freq’ncy Studios Founder, Dave Harris, when questioned on the sudden move.
Harris explains, “There’s something about 40 000 tourists screaming their lungs out, thinking that they actually might die, that makes you think, damn, why have I never been here before?”
Sound engineer, Simon Malherbe explains, “It was actually something a junior copywriter suggested in passing, and we all looked at each other and thought… why the hell not? There are millions of places in the world and there’s no reason why we can’t go there.”
Harris adds, “We’re probably in the noisiest part of the park. The sounds are incredible. To our left is the Death Drop ride and on our immediate right, the Panic Station. Every now and then an old lady and a child jump at the same time. The two shrieks collide and create, like, a symphony of fear. It’s rare, but when it happens, it’s beautiful.”
Situated in the center of the world’s largest water park, the Freq’ncy team have no regrets about the new venture. The recently upgraded studio is now fully equipped with the most up-to-date equipment used in the industry worldwide. It boasts recording capabilities for both vocals and instruments for commercials, films, documentaries and music videos.
Harris explains that the adventurous spirit of Freq’ncy studios takes people to where they never thought possible.“We’re thinking of going to Mars on Friday,” concludes Harris. Without a flinch.
