Phil Collins and the candy selling Gorilla

The rather conservative image of Cadbury’s Dairy Milk chocolate in South Africa is getting an update with this ad featuring a neck-clicking, drum-playing primate (the campaign ran in the UK during 2007 and later made it to New Zealand, Australia and Canada).

Says Cadbury Group Marketing Director Geoff Whyte: “Rather than telling people that eating Dairy Milk chocolate is a moment of joy we are using our new campaign to share a moment of joy with them.”

The new commercial is set to the classic Phil Collins number ‘In the air tonight’ and the Gorilla lets rip on the track’s famous drum solo.

  1. I’ll be honest I laughed until I cried the first time I saw this advert…. My wife are in absolutely stitches every time the gorilla does that thing with his lip and it looks just like Phil…

Hahahaha seeing it on the blog again has got me started all over again – an absolute classic – well done guys.
