MarkLives loves the new Rex website. It’s effective and elegant and uses open-source. But mostly we love it because it makes us greedy – greedy to browse and click and we don’t know many sites that does that anymore – certainly not any corporate sites. It makes their work speak for itself. It also made us envious. Greedy and envious. Top that. “We wanted to find a way to effectively show the depth and breadth of the work we do in one instant snapshot – then allow for further in depth investigation by unpacking each project,” says Olivier Schildt from Rex Creative.
The site was developed in-house using free blogging backend and modifying freely available themes. “We are interested in the world around us and we anticipate that the audience is too,” adds Rudo Botha. “So, presenting an ‘open source’ layout allows people to browse what they like, in the way that they like. Little indulgences to click on, and repeat… this made the content more relevant & accessible to a wider audience, it makes the experience more fun!”
