With the help of Google Trends we are publishing the top 10 searched for phrases (minus the sexy stuff of course) by South Africans on Google over the previous seven days.

News of the pregnancy and hospitalisation of Kate Middleton (officially Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge) and the subsequent media scandal around a prank call to the hospital which treated her ensured her name became the fastest rising web search term on Google by South Africans last week.

Also in the news last week was the sentencing of Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye after the musician was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment following a car crash in 2010 which killed four pupils and injured two more.
