Daily Maverick’s Pauli van Wyk was crowned with the inaugural title of Best Online Journalist, and Mortimer Harvey and the Road Accident Fund received the Pixel for Purpose for its #Always Remember campaign — both Special Honours Black Pixels.

Comments Jerry Mpufane, Bookmarks jury president, “The work awarded at the Bookmarks this year not only celebrates the winning work and leading talent in South Africa, it also becomes a showcase of the go-to case studies and inspiration for up-and-coming talent across the country, as the benchmark for digital excellence”.
Leon Mwandiringa of Clockwork Media walked away with Best Digital Youngster. Raphael Janan Kuppasamy and Jenny Groenewald from Vega School were crowned Best Digital Students. Digify Africa took Best Contribution to Transformation in the Digital Industry and Best Individual Contribution to Digital was awarded to Carmen Murray, founder of Boo-Yah.
Says Paula Hulley, IAB SA CEO, “South Africa’s fresh talent and most memorable campaigns were recognised, illustrating how far the digital industry has come and continues to set the benchmark and light the path for future innovation. This is why we celebrate digital excellence.”
Winners were determined by 68 judges out of 750 entries across 76 categories. The results-based awards show was hosted at the campus | the forum in Bryanston, Johannesburg.
