New ECD for 140 BBDO
140 BBDO has announced that Alexis Beckett has been promoted to executive creative director effective immediately.
“It’s always a pleasure to reward talent that exists within the agency structure,” says Mike Schalit, BBDO South Africa CCO. “Alexis has been behind some of the best work coming out of the building over the past 8 years — now its a chance for him to step up and carve a new chapter, leading the next generation of 140 creativity.”
“This new role is an evolution for which I’ve got a support system in place,” says Beckett. “Creative director, Liam Olding, and I have cemented a great partnership together over the last two years, which gives us an awesome base off which to hone our new roles and responsibilities. We get each other and we’re lucky to be surrounded by an agency of talented multidisciplinary minds.”
Beckett will also be working closely with managing director, Adrian Varkel, to plot the foreseeable future for the agency, “Adrian and I are really fired up to forge a special kind of partnership, one that can lead our agency to the next level. It’s about harnessing the most dynamic combination of consistency and change. The pressure’s on.”
