Global skill, cultural exchange Toffie Pop Festival’s aim

Starting on Friday 30 March and ending Sunday 1 April 2012, the annual Toffie Pop Festival, a festival/conference hybrid that celebrates contemporary popular culture, publishing, design and art, is once again taking place at the Cape Town City Hall.

Toffie Pop’s event poster doubles up as a street art kit. The shapes on the posters can be cut out and the best street art submission wins two tickets to Toffie Pop worth R1500 in total. Entries should be submitted by posting it on the Toffie Pop Facebook Page wall (www.facebook.com/toffiefestival). Posters can be collected from Church Giftshop at 12 Spin St in the Cape Town CBD.

Chew on pop and design culture at Toffie

The Toffie Pop Culture Festival and Design Conference is back in Cape Town for its second year and promises to give delegates lots to chew on (ok, that was cheap – like the tickets!). The festival/conference hybrid, which takes place at the truly lovely grand dame of Cape Town, the City Hall, Thursday 24 March – Saturday 26 March 2011, offers a mix of workshops, speakers, curated exhibitions, films, boxing matches and parties.
