Cell C denies it is out to pitch as fallout from Vodacom account move continues
The Cell C advertising account is not out to pitch. Karin Fourie, Senior Manager: Public and Media Relations at Cell C, confirmed that the account not being moved. “Ogilvy is still our agency of choice,” says Fourie.
It has been widely speculated in the ad industry that Cell C would be ill pleased to sit in the same group (WPP) as Vodacom (with Ireland/Davenport) and MTN (with MetropolitanRepublic) and that the account has gone out to pitch.
Cell C restructuring agency agreements
Cell C is in negotiations to restructure its agency agreements. Karin Fourie Executive Head: Communications at Cell C, told MarkLives that “We are in discussions with all of our advertising agencies about possibly restructuring our agreements but these discussions are confidential between the parties and so at this stage we cannot provide further information. We can, however, confirm that we are satisfied with their performance.”
Fourie confirmed that the account is not out to pitch.
